only a month behind

i have to start this blog by saying i'm in cinci where the heat index is 105 today.
this is no good.. no good for working in a hot semi... no good at all.

after san fran dayne and joe were kind enough to wait for me and let me catch a
ride home to sac. i was able to have 2 nights in my own bed. 2 nights turned into
3 after my 1st flight to seattle was cancelled.

since i my flight was cancelled i got to go to the z-trip show
at harlows and hang with my good buddy pete mcneal who was
drumming with z.
good times.

i was able to get a bike ride in with my 2 of my favorite locals to my favorite
brunch place. quick trips are better then no trip at all.

speaking of quick trips, i get to sleep in my bed 1 night next week! i'm so excited i can't even see straight.

nor cal

sf was kinda sad, we had to say goodbye to gomez and our kick ass catering folks of dega

my folks came out to check out the scene and see the show. i think they had a good time.
i'm still not very good about juggling family and friends at shows.

la la land

i always have mixed feelings about doing shows in los angeles.
this last visit was great. i got to visit with the lovely heather and miss
nancy.
it's weird how you can be ok with the lonely lifestyle that touring
brings until you get to visit with the ones you love and never
see. then it pretty much sucks.

2 nights in la is always good. it means in n out burger late after the gig and the 101 cafe after
you sleep in and on your way to the venue the next day. even better when shows are mid week
and you don't have to fight the weekend brunchers.

west coast!

finally back on the west coast. nice to see the los and mo mo in sd.

az.

thank goodness we were inside a theater today!
it felt like an oven outside, you wouldn't know
by the way the boys are hanging.

alberq. nm.. also known as where my tents were destroyed..

after a long ass bus ride we arrived in alberq. nm in the afternoon.
it was balls hot, but still managed to get out of the hotel
for a bit.

the next day , not only was it balls hot but we had crazy skies the whole day.
it rained a little bit, but we had enough bad winds to fuck up my reverb tents.
awesome.

me not likey the south, southwesty

i pretty much banked on the start of the 2nd leg of the tour was gonna kinda suck.
doing shows outside in the middle of summer in memphis, texas, nm and az is just
kinda mean. it pretty much equals sunburns, nasty bug bites and sweating from the time you
get off the bus till you get back on to go to bed.
woo .
thankfully it was only a week of shows.

memphis was one of those shows where the buses, catering and my merch world were pretty much in arkansas.
we took to using the multi person golf cart at every chance.
i managed to wear bug repellent most of the day and was fine. it wasn't til after my shower and the hike back to the bus that i was attacked my bugs. awesome!

jeffe had a birthday @ mud island.

having our annual juicing hour distracted me from the ickky that was outside.

home for 2 days...

my week off at home turned into 3 days/2 nights in my studio in sac.
i miss my bed, juicer, apt....

this was the 1st year i was able to attend mike d's annual luau. it was worth the wait.
those kids know how to throw a party..
one word....
SHOTSKI....
