em & erik's wedding in the STL!

emily and erik's wedding was one of the few things i was looking foward to this past spring. it's the 1st of 3 weddings that i'm going to this year that i'm really excited about . all 3 of the weddings are for some of my favorite folks. in my experience going to wedding as a single female in her late 20's-30'sish can turn into a bad chick flick once the open bar starts flowing. don't even get me started on trying to find something to wear!

i flew out to saint louis for the 1st one. i was on a budget from not touring for 7 months that i had to take the cheapest flight.
i ended up missing the rehearsal dinner and getting in around 1:30 am. what evs, i was pumped to be meeting up with mel at the hotel.




the wedding was held at an old police station now art gallery. i have to say, it pretty much rocked. they had an old jail cell and booking desk still in there. i wish i had taken the obligatory jail cell photo.




if you couldn't tell , i'm a fan of the left handed take your own picture shot. it was great ceremony, the best i've seen yet. kelly tracy did a great job! as soon as emily began speaking about erik i was teared up. it was one of those days i was happy to be part of . i got a chance to have a drink with some old friends and make a few of new ones. good times.

a few of my favorites of the girls and i threw one in of my folks for good measure.. hanging with these little ones makes clovis seem bearable.

new side of sac

i got moved in pretty quickly , but the one thing i couldn't do is get my dvd player to work with the new digital cable. i even tried having an audio geek and an enviromental engineer take a crack at it with no luck.

i got to enjoy my new neighborhood with my new housemate mike d. we give the new hotdog place around the block a thumbs up!

moved again

the days jenevieve was in town i was also packing up my trusty little studio apt on 23rd and moving over to n st into an attic apt in the victorian where mike d lives. this photo is from my last night in the studio.


it was a spur of the moment move, i got rid of the cal king bed that i loved because it wouldn't fit up into the attic. it was little sad to say goodbye but needed to be done. i'm ok with it, really!



special thanks to michaela who spent a long winded day of a saturday taking boxes down 3 flights of stairs and back up 3 more . she even rallied her boy and his buddy to help us with some of the more fragile/heavy stuff.
btw, i love the stove in the new place!

a nice surprise visit

jenevieve came into town for a few days right between me getting back from sxsw and moving into my new attic apt.
she was driving for a new band and was going to have a night off. it was lovely to see that little lady and her lovely lola.
nice bunch of boys that she was out it with, even if they do flat iron their hair.

point of historical interest!

on our way back down to sacto the next morning, after stopping for some aspirn & a large bottle of water for myself . we saw a sign for a historical site ahead. being a history junkie we made the pit stop to check out the bailey house.


mo showed me how to use some of the settings on my camera so i was having alittle fun at the historical point of interest.

after i got back from austin & sxsw i got a chance to hang with moriah as she was headed back from her trip from the NW back down to san diego. i was pumped to be able to catch her on her big road trip. mo mo and her trusty sidekick zoe picked me up and we headed up to folsom lake to a nifty campground for the night. i think we had intended to get up there before it got dark , but i think we might have taken a wrong turn here or there. but, we did stumble upon a farm or 2 that had llamas!





it was so awesome to be able to spend some time with moriah , playing catch up and hanging with the cutest doggy around. note to self, i should always share chimay when drinking the large bottle!
